Laser Hair Removal: Got some dark hairs you'd like to see gone?

Local / Atlanta, Georgia Makeovers

PhoebeCross.com  - Phoebe (formerly known as "Cleo") gave me my first and only makeover over 10 years ago. She's class - and runs the best such service in Atlanta for new gals.

Local / Atlanta Nightclubs

Stage Door - One of the friendliest, Brian

MAC: Charity - call & discuss

As you know, Phoebe Cross ( phoebecross@bellsouth.net ) is one of the best in the area. But with her move to a smaller home, she has not yet restarted her services. It might be worth an email to her if interested to see if she is ready for business yet.

The next person that I know who provides complete services, including supplying any needs clothes, wigs, etc. is Arah Minah, located on the South side of town. Her website is http://arahminah.no-ip.biz/.  Her hubby is a CD, and I highly recommend her as she both does an excellent job, is a wonderful and sweet person, but has a good understanding. She has also had a booth at the SCC. And both of them have made it to the occasional social here in Atlanta.

Next is Kelly. (http://www.geocities.com/Melissa_Atl/kelley.html  ). She does excellent work with makeup and styling. But does not have the stock of clothes or anything other than the makeup. She works in a store in Ansley ( I know you know her, but I am saying this for the benefit of others....) that is very friendly to us.

Wigs

Looking for the best wigs around town? Guess what? The trick is not "where you buy it" - but who styles it. I've got just the person you need - to resolve both these challenging issues.

The guy who does my wigs is a highly respected member of the local arts community - designing an endless array of wigs & styles for many of the best local theater companies. Thus, making your mane accentuate your feminine features - is pretty much a no-brainer compared to the sort of daily hair styling challenges he masters.

You can visit his web site or call "Monty" (404) 373-0111 - weekdays from 9:00 - 5:00. He works from a private location in Decatur (very discreet), his prices are competitive - and he'll quickly transform your look - from a "guy in a wig" - to a goddess.

If you'll call and tell Monty I recommended you buy from him, it will "trigger your needs in his mind" - and I assure you he'll treat you nicely and make you feel comfortable during your visit. However - keep in mind - he's not some untrained idiot helping you "try on wigs" in a retail shop. He's a Professional. Don't stand him up for an appointment!

Go look around and get a feel for what you like - then call him when you're ready to "look right". You can bring him your favorite wig - or have him make a new one up for you.

He's the best kept DRAG secret in Atlanta!

supplies & accessories

Need some "affordable" make up? An "extra" wig? Low cost pantyhose or jewelry?? How about a cheap knock off of your favorite perfume?

Look no further than DJ's" - the best place for almost anything a tranny needs - at prices you can "live" with. They have three locations - I use the one at Stone Mountain...5295 US Highway 78 - Kroger Shopping Center  770-498-9745

Main Store - 1241 Moreland Avenue 404-635-9135

Marietta - 3244 South Cobb Drive 770-444-9437

nightclub & fetish clothing

If hot clothes are your "thing", there is really only one area to go in Atlanta for your wardrobe - the shops at the Inman Park area on Euclid. They carry all types of fetish clothing and some of the hottest nightclub dresses you'll ever get your nails into. Also, you can shop en femme with few or zero hassles.

Most of the outfits you see in my photo's came from one of two places I'm describing or LA 4-Play. The other shops in the area are good as well - a couple are excellent for exotic jewelry.

One thing I like about such specialty shops is the limited nature of their inventory. They tend to get something once - and then it's "gone". Thus, you will rarely see your outfit draped across the body of another t-girl, when you are out clubbing in your new prize.

Throb

Throb is my personal favorite. They maintain a small location inside the Chamber (nightclub), but you'll find the best selection (and deals) at their main store. They carry everything from hot little dresses and and hard to find mesh stockings, to latex accessories and leather fetish gear The girls working there are all sweet and helpful. Throb is located at 1140 Euclid Avenue NE. (404) 522-0355.

Junkman's Daughter

This place has been around forever and is tops as well. Upstairs is a great selection of shoes and thigh highs. They carry most styles to size 14 - so that's rarely a problem. They are cool with you trying one women's shoes dressed as a guy - so have at it!

Always check the "Sale" rack on the back wall first. Sometimes you'll score a really great pair of shoes for next to nothing. They are almost always closeouts, so check the tag for the remaining sizes available. I've gotten a few treasures this way. The Junkman's Daughter is located at 464 Moreland Avenue NE (404) 577-3188.

My only complaint with Junkman's and Throb is their return policies. Basically, you cannot return any merchandise for a refund, and you must get it back with about 10 days to even make an exchange. This is not always optimal for my schedule and tg lifestyle.

The good news is they are both very t-friendly and you can even try stuff on en drab - as long as you are not too shy to do so.

The Poster Hut

The Poster Hut has all kinds of fun gear and some of the best selection of dom/sub accessories in Atlanta. It is located near the Otherside and the Chamber, so if you are staying in that area - it will be worth stopping in. There base prices are a little high on some items, so look at the sale merchandise first. The Poster Hot is located at 2175 Cheshire Bridge Road NE (404) 633-7491.

General Clothing

Thrift Shops

For every day stuff, you just can't beat the thrift shops in Atlanta. I know some of you just don't like "used" clothing - but let me assure you - you'll find some nice stuff here. Often times, the only reason they get their clothes is that people have lost or gained weight. I've picked up plenty of items with the retailer's price tag still in place.

I prefer the ones situated "outside" the Perimeter. They don't get quite as picked over on the hottest outfits. I think the suburb wives pass on the short stuff. Perhaps that's why their husbands are always hitting on me at the clubs. *Grin*

Lingerie

I'm quite sure you already know where every lingerie shop is in Atlanta. However, I prefer Frederick's. As a chain - they tend to train their employees to work with crossdressers and t-girls of all sorts. I appreciate that sensitivity.

Makeovers

Phoebe (formally known as "Cleo") - is back in business offering makeovers to t-girls in Atlanta.

If you are looking for a non-sexual, highly skilled make up artist to make you look fabulous - and shoot a few digital photos - look no further.

She's as sweet a lady as you'll ever meet. 770-593-4094

Photography

Want to get some good pictures made? Don't we all!! *Laugh*

I've had two sets of photo's done at Glamour Shots. Both were done at the Gwinnett Mall location. The staff is very t-friendly and a lot of fun in general.

The only problem with Glamour Shots is you must go to your photo session already "dressed". This means you have to walk through the mall en fem. I do this all the time, but some of you might be a bit hyper about it. What makes this bothersome to me, is they tell you to wear little or no make up. Do you think I'm wearing a dress in the mall without a boat load of make up? Not this girl! It's a bad policy.

Phoebe Cross will do a makeover & shoot photos of you as well - for about the same you'll spend at Glamour Shots. If you're confident in "walking out the door" - the quality from a professional photographer is tough to beat. If you're more shy - call Phoebe. ((hugs))

Organizations & Get Togethers

Tri Ess

Are you a heterosexual crossdresser and wanting to meet some other girls? You're in luck. Tri Ess is a national "sorority" for girls who match this definition and Atlanta has the largest chapter in the United States. Most of them are great people, first-timers are always welcome and supported, and many are married. Their web site will tell you more.

Southern Comfort Conference

SCC is the largest "get together" of t-girl in the US - and it occurs each year in Atlanta in late September. You should take advantage of the opportunity to meet so many girls from across the country on a face-to-face basis. Also, the seminars are very helpful.
