photo of the month
picture perfect
Back by popular...my "Photo of the Month" selections at reneereyes.com. This series started all the way back in 2000 but I dropped it as my gender evolved.
This time around?
I'm including tips on acquiring all or part of the outfits I model for anyone with an interest.
Enjoy...
...and hopefully I'll see you again next month.

about this photo
It turned cold just as it came time to shoot a new photo of the month.
Thus?
That skimpy little "Thank God it's spring" ensemble I planned to photograph became your garden variety pic of Atlanta's zaniest bimbo on her way out the door to shop at Kroger. Classy, huh?
Oh, that expression on my face? That's the one reserved for the deli manager when she's out of my favorite hummus.
Don't ever run out of Renee's favorite hummus... *Laugh*
how to acquire this outfit
This outfit was acquired almost exclusively from ebay. There
The
blouse & vest...the blouse is a vintage Marie St John that I bought off
ebay and I'm really talking "vintage". Her oldest pieces
include a different
logo design. Of course, now that it's twenty-five years old...it's back in
style. *Laugh* I always liked attached scarves as you see on this blouse.
There's so very many ways to wear them - including the simple draped format
you see in my photo. I acquired the vest at my favorite thrift for under
$3.00. A big key to shopping thrifts is to become highly familiar with those
colors that look best on you (mine are brown, gold & taupe tones) - and using
this low cost option to explore new directions or add filler pieces.

The
jeans & belt....Last month I mentioned that all my favorite jeans are from the same
designer: Sharagano. The ones I'm wearing in this picture remain my most
beloved. Why's that? They fit like a glove (they're 5% lycra) and the faded
coloring causes them to match well with a wider variety of tops & blazers. The
belt is one of my favorites & probably one of the most affordable & simple
designs you'll find in my closets. Sometimes, the simplest things are most
profound, 'ya know?Seeya' next month!
