picture perfect
Back by popular...my "Photo of the Month" selections at
reneereyes.com. This series started all the way back in 2000 but I dropped
it as my gender evolved.
This time around?
I'm including tips on
acquiring all or part of the outfits I model for anyone with an interest.
Enjoy...
...and hopefully I'll see
you again next month.

about this photo
'Tis the season to do formals...Fa', la, la, la, laaa; la, la, la, laaa...*Grin*
Okay: so my singing sucks, whatever. Why don't you try sounding decent
crooning as a woman after 40 years of talking like a guy. :)
I decided to wrap-up (no pun, intended) a year's worth of "photo's of the month" and fashion tips with a
lovely picture taken with my dear friend Kristin at a holiday ball here in
Atlanta last week.
Let's face it: blazer combinations remain
a life-saver if you're carrying some extra weight yet need to appear snazzy. If you're looking thin &
crispy? You can adorn a smaller, body-hugging number like the one Kristin is wearing.
However, if you're more on the thick & chewy side of the oven (like moi)...a
pant-suit might be just what the doctor ordered. :)
how to acquire this outfit
-
The
jacket & pants...the blazer was purchased on ebay. It's an "Escada Couture" velvet tuxedo-styled
blazer with gold & crystal buttons. I doubt any major designer drops so
heavily in value between retail & aftermarket than Escada: this blazer set me
back about one hundred dollars but ran $2,100.00 at retail. I'd suggest you
consider taking advantage of this disparity in order to stylishly update your
wardrobe. ((hugs)) The style wasn't quite as sassy as I wanted, thus...I left
the top button undone, folded-over the lapel & pinned it into place - to
create the much sexier
deep-cut cleavage styling you see in this photo. A Victoria Secret Wonderbra
helped put all that extra work into the right perspective. *Grin* I
bought the split-legged velvet pants at a small shop in Philadelphia
in 2000: they're from my old night-clubbing days. It's a small wonder I was still
able to get my lard-ass into them. Everything worked fine...as long as I
didn't breath. *Laugh* Finally, I wore black
thigh-high stockings to keep my legs warm. A tip
worth noting? The finest velvet is made from silk, the next
best quality is produced from rayon & finally there's good 'ole nylon.
You'll notice the difference in their weight, appearance & lushness as you
wear & compare them.
- The trim...the necklace is another one of
my self-made brooch combo's. It's a St John brooch pinned to a cheap velvet "rope"
that I acquired years ago. The shoes? They're from Payless. I
planned to wear a lovely pair of Stuart Weitzman formals but they were hurting
my toe & I was afraid I wouldn't be able to dance. Go figure...I'm wearing Payless
over Weitzman's because of comfort: what's wrong with that equation?
*Laugh*
Seeya' next year!
