picture perfect
Back by popular...my "Photo of the Month" selections at reneereyes.com. This series started all the way back in 2000 but I dropped it as my gender evolved.
This time around?
I'm including tips on acquiring all or part of the outfits I model for anyone with an interest.
Enjoy...
...and hopefully I'll see you again next month.

about this photo
If you know me very well, you're probably aware this ensemble is one of my favorite styles. It includes my favorite designer: Marie St John. Her knits are the best: period. It includes not one belt...but two - my signature style. And I'm wearing pearls: my favorite jewels. Hard to beat an outfit riddled with all your faves, 'ya know? *Smile*
how to acquire this outfit
This outfit was acquired entirely from ebay.
The
jacket...is a vintage jacket from St John Knits. They're so well made &
you can alter their fit up to two sizes in any direction by simply having your
dry-cleaner stretch them for you. With my broader shoulders? That's always
handy when it comes to arm length and sure beats the price of custom
tailoring.
The skirt...It's also
vintage Marie St John Knit. With my mega-calves? I do best in shorter skirts.
Why? If a skirt hits
at my knees, the eyes assume my thighs are proportionately large...yuck!
You can usually find a better deal on shorter SJ knit skirts on ebay -
most women that buy & wear her clothes avoid them. I hemmed this even
more...you know me: *Grin*
not the only one. *Laugh* However, it's definitely my most compelling. The tan
suede belt is vintage Judith Leiber - my absolute favorite belt designer. Lots
of people collect her purses but I'm addicted to her belts. The three-tier
chain belt is from St John. It's a lighter gold coloring than most such belts
- comes in handy for a softer touch.Seeya' next month!
