Back by popular...my "Photo of the Month" selections at
reneereyes.com. This series started all the way back in 2000 but I dropped
it as my gender evolved.
This time around?
I'm including tips on
acquiring all or part of the outfits I model for anyone with an interest.
Enjoy...
...and hopefully I'll see
you again next month.

about this photo
July & August are hot as blazes plus a great time to enjoy some wild
nights on the town. It takes a lot of shopping to come up with ensembles where
you can look hot...without getting overheated from these infernal temperatures.
This little number solves those problems...to a "T". *Grin*
how to acquire this outfit
-
The
jacket & skirt...are from "Cache": I grabbed it from their half-off rack.
When I consider the quality of the construction on most Cache garments, I
don't find their normal retail pricing very appealing. However, once they
start deep-discounting...their stuff gets more interesting. As usual, my
extra-long arms posed a bit of problem with the fitting of this bolero blazer.
Thus, you'll notice I "turned down" the leopard-trim cuffs to help compensate
for this constant challenge. On the skirt, I used a pair of safety pins to
create the split-styling you see in the photo. It seemed to add a touch
tribal-flair consistent with the overall theme plus my legs are usually
my best feature: no sense wasting your assets, no? *Grin*
- The belt...is an accidental "combination" belt
that worked out rather well. I bought the belt off of ebay: it's an Escada.
Escada is a very high quality German designer that's ridiculously expensive at
retail but very affordable in the after-market. It snaps in the rear & was a
little too large for the higher-waisted look I was seeking. Thus, I took the
belt to my favorite shoe-repair guy...and had him add new snaps so that it
would fit better. Originally, the center pendant was just like the other ones
with the tassels. However, it went missing after I first wore it. Thus, I
added a large, round Chanel pendant that I bought off ebay: turned out rather
nice, don't you think? *Smile*
- The rest...there's a few additional handy tips
included in this outfit. The necklace? I bought the pendant at a local estate
sale. Estate sales are often a great source for affordable, high-quality
jewels so don't forget to stop in on a few of them when you're out & about on
Saturday mornings. I added the heavy gold chain from another necklace I
already owned that just wasn't "working" for me. Also, keep in mind that when
you're wearing a low-cut top: it's usually a good idea to wear a longer
necklace. That way...we lead the eyes right where we want 'em...*Grin* You'll
also note that I'm wearing a braided hair "clip" that I purchased at Ulta:
adds a bit of sass to my pulled-up main of locks. Finally, the dark tanned
loins were achieved mostly from "Magic Tan": aka a full spray tan at my fave'
tanning salon.
Seeya' next month!
