picture perfect
Back by popular...my "Photo of the Month" selections at
reneereyes.com. This series started all the way back in 2000 but I dropped
it as my gender evolved.
This time around?
I'm including tips on
acquiring all or part of the outfits I model for anyone with an interest.
Enjoy...
...and hopefully I'll see
you again next month.

about this photo
Not sure about your area of the country, but here in Atlanta, GA? The
temperatures just can't seem to cool-off for longer than 24 hours.
Rather than declare war and end up in an all-out brawl with mother nature, I
finally embraced a lighter weight winter wardrobe for the balance of 2007. This
ensemble meets those needs perfectly.
how to acquire this outfit
This outfit was acquired from a variety of sources.
-
The
top-half...the brown sleeveless top was purchased at the end of last
season at Cache on the half-price rack. These knit tops are killer during
marginally cold weather. Personally, I prefer a blend of silk & wool like this
one as it adds a touch of elegance to your casual flair. The dual necklaces
are designed to accentuate with the dual belts you see situated below. The
larger, chunky one was bought when my nearby Parisians was going out of
business & I bought the gold-laced pearls from The Limited. An idea worth
noting? These types of silk-wool & rayon blended blouses,
sweaters & blazers can be affordably & discreetly (for closeted gals) cleaned
at home in your household dryer with
Dry Cleaner's Secret - in
absolutely indispensable product for us fashion mavens.
- The lower section...the skirt was one I grabbed
at Arden B. They had a store at a "dying" mall near my home in Decatur for
years...and it was my favorite for shopping. While many gals prefer to
frequent the "hottest" & most crowded malls, I lean towards those with less
traffic. The inventory remains the same & the bargains are less picked over.
The belts slung low at my waist are a favorite combination I discovered while
just piddling-around with fashion ideas. The lower belt is one I bought off of
ebay & the upper belt is a bronze colored metal belt I bought several years
ago at Cache. I'd be ashamed to admit I actually paid full retail for this
belt if it weren't for the fact I mix this unit with about a zillion
combinations. The bottom line? Your very best bargains are the pieces you were
often & love.
Until next month...
